BCCI (Board of Control of Cricket in India) secretary Jay Shah has announced the dates for the white-ball home series against Australia and South Africa on Wednesday. Nine Indian cities are also selected for the T20I and ODI series which starts on September 20.
Team India will play 6 T20 International games against Australia and South Africa which serves as the final dress for the T20 World Cup in Australia this year. After the T20I series, a separate team will play 3 ODIs against South Africa under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan.
The first T20I against Australia is scheduled on September 20 at Mohali and continues on September 23 and 25 at Nagpur and Hyderabad respectively.
The home series against South Africa will begin at Thiruvananthapuram on September 28th. The second and third T20I will be hosted by Guwahati and Indore on October 2nd and October 4th respectively. The second T20I at Guwahati marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
After the T20I, the action will shift to Lucknow for the ODI series. The 1st ODI is scheduled for October 6. The second and third ODI will be hosted by Ranchi and Delhi on October 9 and 11 respectively. But a separate team from the World Cup team will be playing the ODI series.
Australia is hosting the T20 World Cup this time. Team India will play the first game of the T20 World Cup on October 23 against Pakistan. Currently, team India is playing a five-match series against West Indies. Later this month, India will play 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe.
