Shikar Dhawan took 86 runs off 56 balls and Prabhsimran Singh took 60 runs. Sanju Samson scored 42 runs off 25 balls in that match. Punjab Kings won that match by 5 runs. The next match was against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals had an amusing victory in the match. Delhi Capitals choose to bowl first in that match. Rajasthan Royals scored a hefty run of 199 by losing only 4 wickets. Delhi Capitals was unable to handle that target.
Chennai Super Kings had a disappointing start in this IPL. The debut match was between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans. The match was hosted at Gujarat Titan’s home stadium Narendra Modi Stadium. Gujarat Titans had an added advantage in that match as they are playing in their home stadium. Chennai Super Kings took 178 runs by losing only 7 wickets. The match was a one-man show of Ruturaj Gaikwad, he took an explosive 92 runs off 50 balls. Even though CSK lost their first match against defending champions Gujarat Titans, they had a comeback in the next match. CSK won against Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs. Gaikwad again became the star of the match by taking 57 runs off 31 balls. Ambati Rayudu and Devon Conway also contributed to the final score. Chennai Super Kings consecutively won against their greatest rivalry Mumbai Indians in the next match as well.
