An unexpected opening for the T20 World Cup as Namibia defeated the Asian Champions Sri Lanka in the first match of the Group Stage of the tournament. Dasun Shanaka led the Sri Lankan side opted to bowl first in the match and faced an unexpected attack from the Eagles. In the end, skipper Scott Edwards and Logan van Beek played sensibly to take their side over the lines. Edward’s 16 runs were vital in the game under so much pressure. Fred Klaassen and Roelof van der Merwe were excellent with the ball.
