INDIA vs SOUTH AFRICA – A PRE-MATCH PERUSAL

After the two back-to-back losses, India is facing South Africa for the 3rd match of the India vs South Africa T20 at Dr. Y. S.  Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam today (Tuesday, 14th June). Team India led by Rishab Pant has not been able to match the level of South Africa in the current series so far. The Men in Blue are desperate to come back in today’s match.

The match should be a must-win for India to keep the game going. India should have three consecutive wins to steal the title of the series, so the team may be under pressure. While South Africa is leading the series, it is easy for them to make a move and hold the game.

The key battle is between South African pacers and Indian Batters. South African pacers cleared eight wickets out of 31 overs in the previous matches. India is also worried about the patchy form of Iyer.

Another colossal snag team India has is its bowling line-up, which looks very weak now. Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen, and David Miller has already exposed Indian bowling line-up. India wants to put out a better show in the 3rd match to keep them alive in the series.

South Africa is wary of Tabaris Shamsi’s struggles and he is expected to prove difficult to score against for the Indian batting line.

The pitch at the ACA-VDCA stadium is known to be stunning and favorable to the bowlers. A similar stunning performance is expected from the game. The batters should settle down before playing the big shots in the beginning. The team winning the toss might prefer to ball first and chase the total later on.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar single-handedly knocked down South Africa with a wonderful spell in the last match. In four overs, he took 4 wickets and gave away only 13 runs. However, he couldn’t win the game for his team. He may want to give it a try this time with his magnificent performance.

Heinrich Klaasen, the wicket-keeper of South Africa, amused the audience with his spectacular performance in the last match. Everyone expects another blast from Klaasen today. Indian audience expects a fightback from Ishan Kishan like in the 1st match. David Miller, der Dussen, and Shreyas Iyer are on the list of best batters of the match.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Indian opening batter, did not manage to make an impact on the second match even though he played a useful knock in the opening session. Gaikwad was not been able to show his true potential with the bat and criticized largely for the previous matches. Hence, this match may silence the critics with his high scores.
