The latest line-up of ICC 100% Cricket Superstars is unveiled on Friday by the International Cricket Council and India’s Smriti Mandhana evince her place on the list. The five players who are part of the initiative are Fatima Sana (Pakistan), Smriti Mandhana (India), Ashleigh Gardner (Australia), Sophia Dunkley (England), and Gaby Lewis (Ireland).
The 1st group of what will ultimately be 100% Cricket superstars that fans pick was Sophie Ecclestone (England), Amelia Kerr (New Zealand), Hayley Matthews (West Indies), Shafali Verma (India), and Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa).
The stylish sizzling players exhibited their talents in the previous matches and proved themselves to be 100% cricketers.
The 26-year-old left-handed batter Smriti Mandhana is close to completing a decade in international cricket. Mandhana made her debut in August 2014 and in this period of time, she has established herself as one of the most complete all-format players around the world. In June 2018, BCCI has named her the Best Women’s International Cricketer. With her consistency in the game, she has earned the title of 2021 ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, has played 74 ODI games and scored 2892 runs at an average of 42.52 with five centuries and 23 fifties. Also, she has played 92 T20Is and scored 2192 runs which include 16 half-centuries. Mandhana takes part in four Test matches, scoring a century and two half-centuries.
Mandhana is one of the most thrilling opening pairs in international cricket with Shafali Verma. Also, she is ranked fourth and tenth in the MRF Tyres T20I and ODI ICC Women’s Players Rankings.
The right-arm medium-fast bowler of Pakistan Fatima Sana has already emerged as one of the promising cricketers in Women’s Cricket at the age of 20. She made her debut for Pakistan in Women’s One Day International against South Africa on 6th May 2019. In December 2020, she was established as one of the Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year.
With her ability to pick up vital wickets and lower down the runs in crucial matches, Sana has established herself as one of the cornerstones of Pakistan Cricket. In June 2021, during the final match of the West Indies tour, Sana took her first five-wicket haul on WODIs.
Pakistan will have high hopes for the emerging allrounder as she has a long career ahead of her in the game.
Australia’s all-rounder Ashleigh Catherine Gardner started her career in 2019 and in a short period of time she has become an inevitable part of the team with her amazing talents. Ashleigh can claim to have had her hands on the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2022, ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2022, and the Gold Medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games this year.
More than batting, her off-break bowling has left many batters to outmanoeuvre, while she was an uproar with the bat in the middle-order.
The 25-year-old has played 3 Tests, 49 ODIs, and 60 T20Is and excelled in all aspects of the game. She has scored 157 runs in Tests, 916 runs in T20Is, and 667 runs in ODIs. Also, she had four wickets in Tests, 52 in ODIs, and 35 in T20Is.
Sophia Ivy Rose Dunkley is a right-handed batter and right-arm leg break bowler of England who started her international career in 2018.
Her ability to shine with some breathtaking shots with the bat, along with her aggressive stroke-play is what makes her such an impressive player. Her versatility as a player showed with her ability to ball some nifty overs.
Dunkley has played a total of 22 ODIs, 33 T20Is, and 3 Tests. With that, she scored 634, 305, and 152 runs in ODIs, T20Is, and Tests respectively. In July 2022, in the second match against South Africa, Dunkley scored her 1st century in ODI with 107 runs.
The 21-year-old Ireland player Gaby Lewis already has 8 years of experience in international cricket. Despite being so young, Lewis is an established player on Ireland’s Women’s national team.
As a right-handed batter and a handy spinner, Lewis has already made history in the sport of history as the 1st Irish woman to achieve a century in any format. Also, she became one of the youngest ever captains in women’s international cricket by leading the national side in a series against South Africa in 2022.
Lewis has played 25 ODIs scoring 564 runs which include 4 half-centuries. Also, in the T20I format, she has scored 1161 runs from 54 matches. She has also taken 13 wickets in international cricket.
