In what we witnessed an outstanding encounter between 2 teams for a birth in the IPL Finals, Rajasthan Royals overcome Bangalore Royal Challengers to win the ticket against Gujarat for the most coveted prize in the International T20 scenario.
Rajasthan faced Gujarat in the first-round playoff match in a losing effort despite amazing performances from the skipper & the Boss. Bangalore came off with a victory against Lucknow with stunning performances from Patidar & co. The stage was set and both Bangalore and Rajasthan lived up to the expectations with bat and ball. Both teams delivered with a stadium packed with more than 1 lakh audience.
For a change, Sanju won the toss & he elected to bowl first. Bangalore lost an early wicket of Virat Kohli but slowly they fought back and gain momentum. Rajasthan pacers began to show their true color with pitch conditions and weather on their side. The pace trio of Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna & McCoy, and one of the best spinners of our country made sure to restrict Bangalore to a score of 157/8. Patidar came to rise in the occasion by putting a triumphant half-century to the scorecard.
The real show was in the second innings as both Jaiswal & Butler came to open the innings. As usual Yasasvi Jaiswal focused on hitting the bowls out of the park but got out soon. Butler was focusing on getting the momentum slowly. Then came skipper Sanju with some big hits, both the batsman put up a nice partnership that eventually made Butler turn the gear. We were to witness the Butler show thereafter. He was totally unstoppable unleashing his real color and scoring his 4th century of the season.
Now the stage is set for the final of the Tata IPL 2022, where the debutants Gujarat & Rajasthan will fight for the supreme position. Gujarat was on outstanding form overall this season and their team consists of many match-winners both in the batting and bowling units.
