IPL 2023: The most celebrated Cricket event in India is about to begin. The 16th season of IPL is all set to begin on March 31st. Four times IPL champions Chennai Super Kings will be going against the defending champions Gujarat Titans at their home ground, Narendra Modi Stadium.
Narendra Modi Stadium is the home ground for Gujarat Titans. Playing the first match at their home stadium is an advantage for them. The previous IPL Season was restricted to a limited number of places like Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad due to Covid 19. IPL has now returned to its home and away format. Every team will be able to play 7 matches in the home stadium and 7 away games. That will be a total of 74 matches spanned across 12 venues.
Chennai Super Kings is led by one and only legend MS Dhoni. His leadership has won the team many victories. CSK has won the IPL titles four times and they have also been runners-up many times as well. They are indeed the most sought-after team in IPL history. They hold the record of having the second-highest number of IPL titles.
Defending champions Gujarat Titans is no small team. They won the IPL title in their debut IPL season itself. The previous season is clear evidence of the excellence this team holds. Hopefully, they will uphold that competence this season as well. The team will be led by an Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. He was the captain of the team in the previous season as well. He proves his potential as a captain by winning in the first season. Winning the title in the debut season is difficult to achieve. The team Gujarat Titans have managed to gain such an amazing achievement.
The fans are indeed waiting for the match to begin. Both the teams are equally competent and we can’t tell which team is more likely to succeed. Gujarat Titans played two matches against Chennai Super Kings and the result is quite amusing. Gujarat Titans won against Chennai Super Kings, not just once but twice. That does not minimise the possibility that CSK will win the game. The game is going to be the most entertaining to watch.
Another speciality of this season is that this might be MS Dhoni’s last IPL season. His retirement from international Cricket was already declared. He is likely to retire from IPL this season.
