Indian Cricket Legend Mithali Raj has announced her retirement from all formats of international cricket on Wednesday (08.06.2022). She Captained the Indian Women’s Test and ODI Teams. Mithali Raj, the best female batter the country has ever seen who made her international debut in 1999, is also the highest run-scorer in ODI history. Mithali ends her 23-year career at the age of 39.
Mithali tweeted that she was grateful for everyone’s support and she is also looking forward to supporting her in the second inning of her life.

Mithali Raj is the best female batter Indian cricket has ever seen. Mithali made her international debut in 1999 at the age of 16, scoring 114 * not out in ODIs. In the Women’s Test, Mithali scored 699 runs in 12 matches, including one century and four fifties. She, meanwhile, scored 7805 runs in 232 ODIs with 7centuries and 64 fifties. Mithali is the highest run-scorer in women’s ODI history. In the women’s T20I, she scored 2364 runs in 89 matches with 17 fifties. She led the Indian Cricket Team at the ODI Word cup in New Zealand but the team missed to qualify for the semi-finals by just one point. Under Mithali’s captaincy, India reached the final of the 2017 Women’s World Cup, unfortunately, the team lost to England by 9 runs in the Finals and becomes the Runners up.
In march 2021 Mithali achieved the record as the first Indian woman cricketer and second internationally to complete 10,000 runs across all formats.
The accolades which she had acclaimed during her illustrious career are unsurpassable to her peers. She was a standout player in and out of the field. The incidents with the then-coach Ramesh Powar and certain teammates were the only black marks in her career. She is really an inspiration for the coming generations. Her name pivoted as a catalyst in making women’s cricket & cricketers a household name in our country.
Now at 39, it’s the perfect time to hang up her boots and start the second innings of her life. We at Fantasy Cricket League wish her all the success in her coming future. Good luck lady Sachin Tendulkar.
